Walker, Margaret A. Dec. 5, 1925-Dec. 22, 2007 Margaret "Marney" Walker, 82, of White Oak, went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, December 22, 2007. A memorial service in her honor will be 1 p.m. today, December 29, 2007, at Emmanuel Baptist Church of White Oak, with the Rev. Jay Van Zandt officiating. Marney was born in a small community outside Wortham, Texas, to proud parents Bessie and Mack Frost, on December 5, 1925. She grew up in that area and graduated high school. Marney met Jack Walker while she was working in Fort Worth, and he visited friends there. They knew each other only a few short months when they married on July 2, 1948, and remained devoted to each other for more than 59 years. They had three daughters and one son, who were raised mostly in the East Texas area, with a short four-year time around Corpus Christi and the last 39 years in White Oak. She worked for a few years outside the home in the sewing industry, but Marney was most of all a loving and devoted wife and mother. Family and friends and her walk with her Saviour, Jesus Christ, was what was important to her. She is survived by her husband, Jack O. Walker of White Oak; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Curtis Leslie of Carthage, Debbie and Kevin McFarlin of White Oak and Pam and David Shoop of Winnsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Terry Walker of Winnsboro; eight grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; brother, Billy Mack Frost of Bryan; and two sisters, Mildred Raby of Wortham and Lillian Carr of Rockwall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Bessie Frost; brother, Bryan Frost; and granddaughter, Elizabeth McFarlin. Still giving even after death, Marney donated her body to Southwest Medical Center in Dallas in the hopes of helping someone else. She was truly loved and will be forever missed.
