Ellen Wheeler, 94, of Longview passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015, at her residence. 

She was born on May 7, 1920 in Whitesboro Texas to parents John and Mary Ellen Woods. Ellen attended Kilgore College where she gained an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing. She worked as a Nurse until she retired at an age of 77.

In addition to working as a Nurse, Ellen was above all things a poet, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, at recently a great-great-grandmother. Her family was her life, and she lived everyday for them. 

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Ellen; husband Fred Wheeler; and husband Jim Baker. 
Those left to cherish the memory of Ellen include her children, Mary Ellen Sullivan and husband Charles, Elizabeth Ann Wood and husband Daniel, James Albert Wheeler, Henry Steven Wheeler and spouse Arllys Brooks, and Jerry Clifton Wheeler and spouse Linda; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and extended family.
