Charlcie Hayden Willis of Longview, Texas, as of January 4 is now
reunited with her beloved husband R. P., and daughter, Patricia, and is
joyfully celebrating in the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior.

Visitation with family will be on Wednesday, January 7, at Rader Funeral
Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, January
8, at 10 a.m., Rosewood Park Cemetery Mausoleum, Longview.

Charlcie is survived by her son, R. P. Willis and daughter-in-law,
Carrie; of Lafayette; her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Kip
Holleman of Longview; her grandson, Jason Kaliszeski and his wife, Becky
of Belle Chase, Louisiana; granddaughters Kristen Willis, of
Youngsville, Louisiana, Kimberly Randolph of Denton, Texas, and Kari
Leigh, and husband, Jared Spittle of Maurice; and grandson Blake Willis
who resides in Lafayette, Louisiana. And last but not least, her
precious 10 great grandchildren.

Charlcie was born in Carthage, Texas on April 18, 1927 to Claude and
Bertha Lee Hayden. She married R. P. Willis on June 4, 1947, in Atlanta,
Texas - and life began! Theirs was a special relationship and they led a
life full of fun and adventure. R. P. worked for Phillips Petroleum and
Charlcie was the loving, attentive caregiver to her family. During the
course of their 56 year marriage, the oilfield took them many places.

As newlyweds, they initially lived in Gladewater, then moved to various
places in Arkansas, south Louisiana and Texas. In 1971, Phillips offered
them the opportunity to go overseas where they lived in Stavanger,
Norway for 3 years and Gt. Yarmouth, England for 7 years. In 1981, they
returned to the United States and made their home in Longview.

Charlcie was an avid interior designer. Any home she lived in had her
talented touch. While overseas, one of her favorite hobbies as she
traveled was antique shopping. Her home was filled with lovely European
treasures, each of which had a very special story attached. She loved to
sew and needlepoint and always had a project in various stages of
completion.

Upon her return to the states, she became very involved in volunteer
activities. She was a Pink Lady for many years at Good Shepherd
Hospital. Her last love has been her volunteer years with the Texas
Oncology – Longview Cancer Center. Having been a cancer survivor, she
was able to relate to the patients and love and encourage them in her
sweet, understanding way.

Charlcie was a member of Winterfield United Methodist Church, where she
gave her time to many services, volunteer committees and board
committees. She has many dear friends that loved her and hopefully know
how much she loved them in return.

She was a loving and adored wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother. She leaves an unending legacy to family and friends. She
constantly poured into every one she touched the gift of life and
laughter. The void left by her absence is immense for all.

The family would like to thank staff at Treviso Rehabilitation Center
and the Good Shepherd Emergency staff for their kindness and care for her.

Pallbearers are: Jason Kaliszeski, Blake Willis, Jared Spittle, Bob
Oldham; Jim Willett, and John Durst.
Mother specifically wanted to use her great grandsons as pallbearers to
be a part of the service. They are: Jacob, Nicholas, Pierce, Cooper,
Ethan, Jonah, Hayden and Jackson

Graveside music services will be performed by Ms. Audra Butler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Texas
Oncology-Longview Cancer Center.
