Akins, Rev. Daniel E.

MARSHALL - Services for the Rev. Daniel E. Akins, 83, of Marshall, will be 2 p.m. 
Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy 
Broadbooks officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Akins died 
September 1, 2007, in Marshall.

Born June 2, 1924, in Louisville, Ky., he was a Church of Christ in Christian Union 
minister for 67 years and was also a truck driver for Commercial Carrier for 20 
years. Survivors include his son, Daniel Allan Akins; daughters, Jessie Ann Gifford, 
Linda Bacon and Debbie Holmes. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 
2007, at the funeral home.
