Ames Sr., James Richard "Papasan"

MARSHALL - Services for James Richard "Papasan" Ames Sr., U.S.A.F., colonel, retired, will 
be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Downs Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services, 
with full military honors, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007,at Dallas/Fort 
Worth National Cemetery. Col. Ames died August 4, 2007.

Born January 6, 1918, in Lebanon, Ohio, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force, started Meja 
Imports, enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife, 
Marion; and children, Cassandra Lynn Ames, James R. Ames II and Elisa A. Marchand. Visitation 
will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
