Visitation: No Visitation Funeral services for Herb Brabham, 88, of Longview will be 2 PM Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Longview with Revs. Jim Welch and Bill Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Brabham died Thursday morning at his residence. A native of Telico Plains, Tennessee, he was born June 29, 1913 to Malcolm and Leola Brabham. He grew up in Knoxville, TN and attended the University of Tennessee. He worked for Tennessee Eastman in the early 1940's and then served his country in the US Army during WW II in the European theater. He returned to Tennessee Eastman after the war and in 1951 came to Longview. He was employed by Texas Eastman until his retirement in 1978. Mr. Brabham was former member of the Lions Club and the First Presbyterian Church where he had been a long time member. He joined the First Methodist in 1974 and was a strong supporter of the School for Little Children. Mr. Brabham is survived by his wife: Polly of Longview; son: David and his wife Beverly of Longview; daughters: Lucy Sarrett and husband Randy of Texarkana and Rebecca DiSette and husband Tim of Kansas City. Grandchildren: Adrienne and Robert Brabham, Sally Sarrett, and Zachary, Adam and Sam DiSette. Beloved family members include Edward and Anne Mortara, Dick and Patty Brabham, Anne Walker and Allen Everett, Mary Alice and Don Brown, Nancy Abernathy, Jean and Riley Lumpkin and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Brabham was preceded in death by his wife: Eadie Brabham and a son: Bobby Brabham. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Hospice Longview or to charity of your choice.
