1941 MISS WILLIE COOLEY CALLED BY DEATH; Funeral will be held Sunday at 3 o`clock Miss Willie Cooley, resident of Marshall for more than 80 years and said to be the oldest living member of the Methodist Church here, died at her residence 606 West Burleson St. Saturaday night at 8:15 o`clock. Miss Cooley was born August 1 1849 at a small community called Powellton, a mile west of Waskom. When she was four years old, in 1853 she moved with her parents to Marshall ,and settled at the home on West Burleson , where she has lived since that time. She joined the M.E. Church, South when she was 15 years old. Surviving are a nephew, J.W.C. Smith: three great nephews, H.A. O`Neal of Shreveport and Chesley and Herschel O`Neal , of Atlanta, Tx.; two great great nephews, Hardy O`Neal of Shreveport and Bob Arnold of Gatesville; a great great great nephew, small son of Bob Arnold; and three great nieces, Miss Alice O`Neal Mrs. Mary Coulter and Mrs. Janie Johnson all of Atlanta, Tx; one nephew John Dryden Smith and two nieces, Miss Fannie Mae Smith and Mrs. Albert S. Higgins. Funeral services will be conducted from the residence at 3 O`clock Sunday afternoon in charge of Rains & Talley and with Rev. Guy F. Jones, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating Burial will be in Marshall cemetery. Pallbearers are: Lake Brown, Henry Brown, Paul Whaley, Erik Littlejohn, George Hutchins and Hardy O`Neal.Honorary pallbearers: T.L.Whaley, R.P. Littlejohn, E.P. McCormic, John G. Brown, Gordon Boone, Dr. F.S. Littlejohn, Albert Pierce, W.C. Pierce, Morrissette Carruth, Wm. Caven, Jack Albright, Ed Shelton, Don Cameron, L.E. Strickland, H.E.Pelz, Joe Goulden, R.S. McKinley, A.E. Higgins, Vernon Hillard and John Brownrigg.
