Evans, Johnny M.

MARSHALL - Graveside services for Johnny M. Evans, 86, of Marshall, will 
be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Grangehall Cemetery, with the Rev. 
Buddy Shelton officiating. Arrangements are by Downs Funeral Home. Mr. 
Evans died May 9, 2007, in Longview.

Born March 21, 1921, in Winnfield, La., he was a U.S. Army veteran, having 
served as a sergeant during World War II, retired from Texas Department of 
Transportation and a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include 
his daughters, Darlene Collins and Dianne Courtney; brother, Pete Evans; 
and sisters, Amy Shaw, Ollie Baker and Florella Rond. Visitation will be 
from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
