Hargroves, Edward Bethea Hargroves Sr. and Bettye Sue Matlock 

MARSHALL -- Services for Edward Bethea "Ed" Hargroves Sr., 83, and Bettye Sue Matlock Hargroves, 
71, of Marshall, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at the chapel of Downs Funeral Home. 
Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Spring Branch Cemetery in Springhill, La. The 
Hargroves died July 27, 2006, in DeBerry. Mr. Hargroves was born October 11, 1922, in Marion, 
S.C. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from insurance sales. Mrs. 
Hargroves was born July 9, 1935, in Springhill, La. She was retired from Montgomery Ward and JC 
Penney. They were members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Marshall. Survivors include their son, 
Eddie Hargroves Jr.; daughters, Susie Hargroves-Lovett and Ruthann Skinner; and Mrs. Hargroves' 
sisters, Bobbie Faye Purvis and Linda Kay Matlock. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 31, 
2006, at the funeral home.
