Hayes, Charles Ray "Charlie" MARSHALL -- Services for Charlie Hayes, 50, of Kilgore, will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home of Marshall, with the Reverned James Henderson and J.T. Hogue officiating. Burial will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Charlie was born October 26, 1955, in Marshall, and attended Marshall public schools before joining the U.S. Army in 1973. He was a sales representative for Acceptance Insurance Agency in Tyler. Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Lisa; her parents, Charles and Leta Marsh; step-daughters, Lauren and Leslie; step-son, Bradley; his mother, Shirley Sawyer and her husband, Bobby; his father, Jessy Charles and his wife, Deana; sisters, Debra McDowell and Cynthia Blankenship; nephew, Joey Long; niece, Melissa Deitzle; grandmother, Maybelle Hogue; step-siblings; cousins; aunts; uncles; and many friends. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Jessy and Velma Hayes; maternal grandfather, Ray Hogue; his uncle, Harliss Hayes; and great-nephew, J.D. Long. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening, May 10, 2006, at the funeral home in Marshall. Pallbearers will be his cousins, Larry Preston, Gary Darnell, Don Millar, Jim Millar, Jamie Mitchell, and Jay Burnett.
