Howard, Gertha Lee 


MARSHALL -- Funeral services for Gertha Lee Parish Howard, 
84, of Marshall, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 
Full Gospel Holy Temple, with Bishop Larry Kiel Sr. 
officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Garden Cemetery, 
under the direction of Rambo Funeral Home. Mrs. Howard died 
Monday, May 8, 2006, at Marshall Manor Nursing and Rehab 
Center. She was born September 28, 1921, in Carthage, to 
Albertus and Rosie Smith. A graduate of Central High School, 
she later became a chef at Bishop College and Wiley College 
and was also a seamstress. She was a member of Full Gospel 
Holy Temple of Marshall. Mrs. Howard is survived by her 
children, Jeannetta Newson of Marshall, Beannetta Allen of 
Arlington, Frank Parish of Marshall, Ruby Mitchell of 
Marshall, Donna Howard of Dallas, Debra Howard of Lewisville, 
and Dena "Dee" Valdes of Longview; 20 grandchildren; 17 
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, 
Carrie Sykes of Harbon City, Calif.; and other relatives and 
friends
