Ramey, Wayne MARSHALL -- Services for Wayne Ramey, 66, of Marshall, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Downs Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Ramey died January 13, 2007, at his residence. Born June 30, 1940, in Pawhuska, Okla., he owned and operated Superior Submersible Systems, was involved in Habitat for Humanity and a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Ramey; daughter, Susan Thornton; son, Brad Ramey; mother, Marie Pemberron; brother, Dwayne Ramey; and sister, Sherry Kendrick. Funeral services for Mr. Ramey will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. Interment will be in the Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Ramey was born June 30, 1940, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to Wayne Ramey Sr. and Marie Adolph Ramey. He attended and graduated from high school in Oklahoma, and had lived in Marshall since November of 1979. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and involved with Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Ramey owned and operated an oil field services business, Superior Submersible Systems. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Ramey Sr. Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife, Sandra Ramey of Marshall; daughter, Susan Thornton and husband, Don of Marshall; son, Brad Ramey of San Francisco, California; grandson, Tyne Thornton, and granddaughter, Jessica Thornton, both of Marshall. Also surviving Mr. Ramey are his mother, Marie Pemberron of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; brother, Dwayne Ramey, also of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; sister, Sherry Kendrick of Skiatook, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Ramey's name may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Central Baptist Church Organ Fund.
