Rhodes, Robert O. Services for Robert O. Rhodes, 70, of Hallsville, will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Dr. David Massey and Buckline Berger officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Park Mausoleum. Mr. Rhodes retired from the Longview Fire Department after serving more than 20 years, and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Hallsville. Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Patsy" Rhodes; daughter, Debbie Duffee; and son, Robert Rhodes. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today, February 11, 2007, at the funeral home. Rhodes, of Hallsville, Texas, went home to be with his Lord on February 10, 2007. Services will Monday, February 12, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Massey and long time friend, Buck Lineberger officiating. Robert was born in Paris, Texas, on July 4, 1936, to Dennis and Barbara Rhodes. Robert and his family moved to Longview in 1971. He worked for the Longview Fire Department until retiring in 1991. Robert was also a building contractor for 25 years. After retirement Robert worked for ABC Auto. Robert was a devoted husband and father. He was warm, kind and caring to everyone he met. He enjoyed being with his family who loved him dearly. He was lovingly known as Papaw to his six grandchildren. Robert enjoyed traveling with his wife and his dear friends in the OP RV Club. He loved his family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ at the First Baptist Church of Hallsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Barbara Rhodes; two brothers, Cecil Rhodes and James Rhodes; his son-in-law, Dean Forsander; and brother-in-law, Leslie Woodard. Looking forward to the Glorious Reunion are his wife, Patsy; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Terry Rhodes; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Randy Duffee; and grandchildren, Jeff, Casey, Baili and Megan Rhodes, Lane and Aaron Forsander, and Kyle Duffee, all of Hallsville; sisters, Mary Woodard and Eloise Capehart, both of Paris, Texas; brothers Willy, Bobby and Kenneth Rhodes of Paris, Texas, Richard Rhodes of Springtown, Texas, and Joe Rhodes of Fort Worth, Texas.
