Ridgeway, Lonroe L. "Red" MARSHALL -- Services for Lonroe L. "Red" Ridgeway, 84, of Bay City, formerly of Kermit, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006, at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home in Marshall, with the Rev. Mike Midkiff and the Rev. Billy Evers officiating. Interment will be in Piney Cemetery of Harleton. Mr. Ridgeway passed away at 5:30 a.m. August 14, 2006, in Houston, after a short illness. He was born October 23, 1921, in Harleton, to A.B. and Bertha Jones Ridgeway. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion and VFW. Mr. Ridgeway worked for Skelly (Texaco) as a pumper until he retired in 1982. Red loved to hunt and fish, and would rarely come back from the field or water without game in his pouch or fish in his net. He passed down as much of his 84 years of wisdom and love for the outdoors as he could to his two grandsons. Anyone who knew him also knew that he had a green thumb for growing the biggest, juiciest tomatoes around. He was a loving father and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed. Mr. Ridgeway was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Bertha Ridgeway; and brothers, Albert O.D. Ridgeway, Jesse Ridgeway, Chester Ridgeway, and Harmon Ridgeway. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Kim Ridgeway Moya and Pat of Bay City, Tracee Ridgeway of Houston, and Fran Solomon; grandchildren, Colby L. Moya of College Station, Sean P. Moya of College Station, Stacie, Lonnie and Norman, Lil Cap Soloman, and Lil Bob Soloman; and sisters, Alma Smith of Longview, and Betty Arnold of Marshall. Pallbearers will be Richie Arnold, Tommy Arnold, Richard Ridgeway, Dennis Ridgeway, Glenn Ridgeway, and Billy Ridgeway. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday evening, August 16, 2006, at the funeral home. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 8/16/2006. ------------------------------ Ridgeway, Lonroe L.
