Ritter, Reuben Louis "Pop"

MARSHALL - Services for Reuben Louis "Pop" Ritter, 83, of Marshall, will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, 
August 7, 2007, at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert 
Prothro, Dr. Franklin Atkinson and the Rev. Mike Brittian officiating. Interment will be in 
Smyrna Cemetery in Harleton, with military honors. Mr. Ritter died August 4, 2007, in 
Marshall.

Born April 8, 1924, in Shreveport, La., he retired from the U.S. Army after 22-1/2 years of 
service, having served during World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars, and was a member of 
Port Caddo Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Oneida Cooke Ritter; daughters, 
Rebecca Ponder and Phyllis Bryan; sons, Cary Ritter and Wayne Loyd; brothers, Bryan Ritter, 
Bernard and Richard K. Jones and Don and Royce Maddox; and sisters, Marry Elliot and Betty 
Newman. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, August 6, 2007, at the funeral home.
