Born June 5, 1919, in Marshall, he was a retired dairyman and beef producer and a Methodist. Survivors include his son, Gene Sanders; and daughter, Sherry Cloniger. Mr. Sanders died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Longview. He was born June 5, 1919, in Marshall, to Eva Walker Sanders and William Eugene Sanders. Mr. Sanders married Dena Ruth Hudson on December 21, 1938, in Marshall. Mr. Sanders was a retired dairyman and beef producer. He was a recipient of several awards in agriculture, especially for his ability to produce outstanding crops. His pastures were toured by adult, college and high school groups. He was also retired from Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America, after 30 years of service. Mr. Sanders was a lifelong Methodist. He served on the board of trustees at Grange Hall Methodist Church and Grange Hall Elementary School. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dena Ruth Sanders; and siblings, Hughy Sanders, Nora Jarrott, Thelma Faggard, Leon Sanders and Bonnie Sanders. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Jennell Sanders of Mesquite; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Larry Cloniger of Longview; grandchildren, Mandy Flanagan of Marshall, Jeffrey Sanders of Murphy, Josh and Keisha Cloniger of Bryan/College Station and Gennie and Kyle Holcomb of Forney; and several nieces and nephews.
