Smith, Jimmie D. Funeral services for Jimmie D. Smith, 76, of Hallsville, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Mulberry Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Smith was born November 13, 1929, in Healdton, Okla. He died July 15, 2006, at his residence. Interment will follow in Hallsville Cemetery in Hallsville. J.D. went to be with his Lord on July 15, 2006. He was born November 13, 1929, in Healdton, Okla., to Jim and Connie Smith. He was a beloved husband and faithful companion. Mr. Smith loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his Lord. Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Edna M.; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy E. and Sandy Smith of Austin; daughters and sons-in-law, Ladonna and Charlie Boswell of Lake Jackson, and Kim and Joe Brumble of Hallsville; granddaughters, Shay and Jay Grimes of Lake Jackson, and Kristi Boswell of Shreveport, La.; grandsons, Jimmy and Christy Boswell of Lake Jackson, Joe Daniel, and Hunter Brumble of Hallsville, and Monty and Cody Smith of Austin; great-granddaughters, Brenttnie Fontineau, Jera Homniok, Keely Grimes, Carley and Caitlin Boswell; great-grandsons, Koda and Blake Grimes; loving sister, Willie Garrett of Ardmore, Okla.; best buddy and brother-in-law, Gus and Bessie Jo Steward of Carlsbad, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Those serving as pallbearers include Jimmy Boswell, Joe Daniel, Hunter Brumble, Adam "Ralph" Priestly, Tony Jenkins, and Cody Costello. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Smith's Sunday school class.
