Swearingen, Acey A. MARSHALL -- Services for Acey A. Swearingen, 92, of Lombard, Illinois, will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2006, at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan--Heaster Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas, with Dr. Dean Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Algoma Cemetery of Marshall, Texas. Mr. Swearingen passed away January 22, 2006, in Lombard, Illinois. Mr. Swearingen was born November 3, 1913, in Marshall, Texas, to Ben and Mollie Swearingen. He graduated from Marshall High School. Mr. Swearingen served in the United States Army from February 27, 1942 to November 23, 1945, during World War II. He was a wholesaler of candy and tobacco for Swearingen Tobacco Company from 1945 until his retirement in 1979. He married Dorothy Peterson in 1983 in Longview, Texas. Mr. Swearingen was a member of the National Tobacco Association, Texas Tobacco Association, and Arkansas Wholesale Grocers and Tobacco Association. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Swearingen of Lombard, Illinois; sons and daughters-in-law, Acey and Lee Swearingen of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dean and Connie Peterson of Lombard, Illinois; daughter, Becky Swearingen of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Tucker Swearingen of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sara Swaeringen of Little Rock, Arkansas, Shelly and Ben Kilpatrick of Boliver, Missouri, and Rob and Julie Peterson of Lombard, Illinois; and sister, Iris Phipps of Henderson, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mollie Swearingen; brothers, Ben E. Swearingen Jr., and M.D. Swearingen; and sisters, Lillie Edwards, Iola Mercer, and Marie Overlock.
