Slade, Charles

MARSHALL - Services for Charles Slade, 86, of Waskom, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, 
July 23, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Waskom, with the Rev. Harold 
Colburn officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery of Waskom. 
Arrangements are by Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Slade died July 19, 2007, in 
Shreveport, La.

Born January 15, 1921, in Wood County, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served 
during World War II, and owned and operated Slade Pipe and Salvage. Survivors 
include his son, Charles Slade Jr.; daughters, Theresa Gilbreath, Carrie Partida, 
Patty Cooper and Tammy Philpot Slade; and sisters, Ruth Courtney and Dorothy Foy. 
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, at the funeral home.
