Timmins Sr., Amos Frank MARSHALL -- Amos Frank Timmins Sr., 91, of Marshall, was the eldest child of Emory Star Timmins and Octavia Vise Timmins. He passed away peacefully Monday, June 19, 2006, in Marshall. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Woodley Cemetery in Elysian Fields, under the direction of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joel McMahon and the Rev. Don Dodge officiating. Friends are invited to go in procession with the family to the cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, prior to services, from Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home. Amos Frank Timmins was born October 14, 1914, in Elysian Fields. He graduated from Marshall High School and the College of Marshall in the early 1930s. He married Bonnie Scogins Timmins on August 31, 1939, in Waskom. They were married 66 years and had three children. Frank began his entrepreneurial career as a young man beginning with a loan business in partnership with his father. Through the years, he owned three newspaper distributorships as well as Texas Auto Supply Stores located in Henderson, Longview, Tyler, Greenville, and Bossier City. He was also in oil and gas exploration and development for several years. Frank's energy, enthusiasm, and zest for life were an inspiration to those who knew him. Frank continued working in his business until he suffered a brain injury resulting from a fall in 2003. Family was an important part of Frank's life as he and his wife, Bonnie, welcomed their children and grandchildren home at any time. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Timmins Jackson. Survivors include his wife of almost 67 years, Bonnie S. Timmins; daughter, Mary Kathryn Timmins Bryan and husband, Lowell, of Fort Worth; son, Frank Timmins Jr. and wife, Sherrie, of Dallas; daughter, Bonnie B. Timmins of Marshall; grandchildren, Michael Edward Bryan of Euless, Taylor Nicole Timmins of New York City, and Jefferson Lee Timmins of Dallas; brother, Dr. Emory S. Timmins and wife, Lorell of Longview; cousins, Tim Timmins and wife, Nancy Lee of Dallas, and Tom Timmins and wife, Dottie, of Dallas; numerous other cousins; and a host of friends. Honorary pallbearers will be D.A. Jacks, Reggie Hasty, David "Scooter" Newton, Alf Lacy, Mike Bryan, Jeff Timmins, and Dr. Emory S. Timmins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses of Care Team Home Health Services and to the devoted sitters.
