Todd, James Murrell Hatten "Jamie" MARSHALL - Services for James "Jamie" Todd will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Texas and Louisiana Association Building, Hwy. 43 in Marshall, with the Rev. Paul A. Todd Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery of Hughes Springs. Arrangements are by Hayward-Stanmore Funeral Home of Marshall. James "Jamie" Murrell Hatten Todd, the first child of James and Ouida Hatten, was born November 26, 1954, in Cass County. Jamie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Liberty United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs. She graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1973 and from Bishop College in Dallas in 1977. In January of 1975, she married the Rev. Paul Alan Todd Sr. Their 32 years of marriage was blessed with six children: Chrystalyn and Tony Baker; Hope, who preceded her in death; Paul Jr.; Michelle and Phillip Gray; James; and Sondra. Mrs. Todd was a dedicated member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, musician and president of the Voices of Faith (youth choir), and secretary. She traveled nationwide and carried the church and choir to many cities and states of the Baptist work. Jamie served as pianist for the Texas and Louisiana Mass Choir, member of Lucie E. Campbell Music Workshop Choir, instructor in the Baptist Missionary and Education Congress of Texas, instructor in the Texas and Louisiana District Congress of Christian Education, and pianist for the BM&E Congress of Texas. Jamie loved her job as secretary to the president of Texas State Technical College in Marshall. In addition to serving on the Friends committee at the Marshall Public Library, she had also worked for the Texas Department of Human Resources in Linden; Wiley College in Marshall; a radio station in Atlanta, Georgia; musician for the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan; Good Hope Baptist Church in Dallas; Thankful Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia; Macedonia Baptist Church in Linden; Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield; Liberty United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs; and Bethesda Baptist Church in Marshall. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, the Rev. Paul Alan Todd Sr.; daughter, Chrystalyn and Tony Baker of Flint, Michigan; son, Paul Alan Todd Jr. of Houston; daughter, Michelle and Phillip Gray of Bacliff; son, James Edward Todd, defensive back for the Spokane Shock of Spokane, Washington; daughter, Sondra Rena Todd of Tyler; father and mother, James and Ouida Hatten of Hughes Springs; mother-in-law, Pauline Todd of Flint, Michigan; brothers, Ronald and Debra Hatten of Hughes Springs, and Roderick Hatten of Daingerfield; sisters, Burnett Hollis of Houston, Patsy and Michael Taylor of Hughes Springs, and Phyllis Johnson of Hughes Springs; grandchildren, Mi'Kayla Gray, Malaysia Baker and Quinton Gray; sisters- in-law, Marietta Davis Woodson of Flint, Michigan, Coreane Jones of Ecore, Michigan, Hermie Thorne of Rochelle, New York, and Virginia and Sam Williams of Flint, Michigan; and one brother-in-law, James "Jimmie" Todd of Flint, Michigan.
