Walker, Van Arden Masonic graveside services for Van Arden Walker, 61, of Hallsville, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Noonday Cemetery in Hallsville with Thomas Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Van passed away Friday, June 1, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Walker was born September 9, 1945, in Marshall, Texas, to Gaston and Lucille Walker. He attended Hallsville schools, where he played baseball. He loved sports so much that he went on to coach Little League baseball for many years. He served in the National Guard and was employed by Stroh's Brewery for 31 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the James F. Taylor Masonic Lodge and the Hallsville Church of Christ. For 39 years, he was married to his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann Jones Walker, who will continue to take care of Van's "little girl," Lacee, his pet. Surviving family members include his wife, Elizabeth Walker; a daughter, Teresa Ann White and son-in-law, Michael White of Hallsville; a son, Chad Arden Walker and daughter-in-law, Veronica Walker of Navasota, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica, Laurie and Natalie Dirksen of Hallsville; a brother, Jackie Walker and his wife, Nancy Gallien Walker of Hallsville; a sister, Sally Morgan and her husband, B.A. Morgan of Springhill.
