Visitation: Tuesday, Jul. 24, 2012 Service: Wednesday, Jul. 25, 2012 Cemetery: Memory Park Cemetery Funeral services for Thelma Pearl Young, 89, of Hallsville will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Hallsville Church of Christ with Bro. Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park in Longview. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Young passed away Sunday morning in a local hospital. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM. Thelma was born on November 16, 1922 in Jackson County, Texas to Willie and Addie Linton. She was a member of Hallsville Church of Christ, and was very strong in her faith. She loved farming and raising chickens and worked hard along side of her husband Marvin in the Egg and Cattle business. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. In her later years, she took care of her mother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Young always enjoyed going to the fairs in Shreveport and Dallas and looked forward to going when they could. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Young, who passed away in 1999; 2 brothers, Nathan Linton and K.C. Linton; and 1 sister, Erie Kinder. Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Galen and Sheila Young of Hallsville; her grandchildren, Jim Young and Jake Young, both of Hallsville; her sister, Flossie Puckett of Beeville; her brothers and sisters-in-law Cecil and Jean Linton of Boston, MA, and Robert and Margaret Linton of Kingsville, TX; her sister-in-law, Edith Linton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
