Celeste Poised For Homecoming

Greenville's good neighbor to the north, Celeste, awaited anxiously the influx of hundreds of former citizens and families today in what is expected to be the biggest get-together in the city's history. A colorful program has been planned, but mostly it will be a meeting of old friends and neighbors to talk over old times.

Making Big Plans...

A group of Celeste citizens gathered at the City Hall to make plans for the homecoming today. Left to right are Bob Manley, Jack Ruff, Mrs. Jestena Hunter, Mrs. Lem Warren (standing), Mrs. Carl Lacy (standing), Mrs. W. W. McMichael, Mary Eastwood (standing), Hubert Shields, and Albert Granberry. Church services will be held during the morning, then at noon, a huge picnic luncheon will be held in the high school gymnasium and later there will be a short business meeting.
