Mrs. R. W. Saye Honored at Party on Birthday

Celeste--Mrs. R. W. Saye observed her birthday on Sunday, January 1, 1967. The party was held in the dining hall of the Gilbert Nursing Home, in Leonard, where Mrs. Saye has been a resident for several months.

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Saye who live in the family home at Lane, and daughters, Mrs. Jess Jefferson of McKinney and Mrs. Essie Handles of Leonard, were hosts for the party. Nursing home residents, staff members, and guests greeted the honoree.

Cake and punch were served.

Dick Saye of Celeste and grandson, Teddy Joe Saye and family of Grand Prairie, were present for the celebration.

Until her illness last year, Mrs. Saye maintained her home at Lane for several years following her husband's death. The Saye family moved to the Lane community in 1910 from the Westminster community. The country home and farm has been noted for the care and beauty of yard and garden. Mr. Saye built the house shortly after the family moved there.
