COMMERCE — Ben Elbert Thomson, 91, of Fort Worth, formerly of Commerce, died Nov. 11, 2006. A graveside service with full military honors is scheduled at 1 p.m. today at Rosemound Cemetery with Rev. Dana Compton officiating. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home. The son of Judson Emmet and Mary Erl Guthrie Thomson, he was born Sept. 5, 1915, in Honey Grove. On June 23, 1940, he married Mary Louise Jordan in Commerce.

Mr. Thomson served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Lone Star Gas-Western Division, serving as vice president from 1950 to 1982. He was a Methodist.

Mr. Thomson loved being with his wife and his family, playing golf and talking to pretty girls.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Mulkey and husband Neil of Irving and Kathy Thomson of Pensacola, Fla.; three grandsons, Casey Huett and wife Christy of Grand Prairie, Robby Huett and wife Galena of Annapolis, Md., and Jimmy Mulkey of Irving; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley Huett, Henry Walker, Megan Huett, Taylor McConnell, Casey Huett Jr., Madison Huett, Tanner Huett and Taylor Huett; brother-in-law Wendell Jordan Jr.; and a nephew and wife, Wendell Jordan III and Katie. Pallbearers are Casey Huett, Robby Huett, Jimmy Mulkey Jr., Taylor McConnell, Tanner Huett and Henry Walker.
