WINNSBORO — Betty Carolyn Rushing, 64, of Winnsboro died April 5, 2007, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shady Grove Cemetery with Brother Fred Morrow and Brother Richard “Nub” Brown officiating.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

The daughter of the late R.G. and Opal Mullins Jarred, she was born March 28, 1943, in the Stout Community. On Oct. 19, 1963,, she was married to Truman Rushing in the Shady Grove Church.

Mrs. Rushing was a homemaker and was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook and an even better “Ma” to her four grandchildren.

Survivors are her husband of Winnsboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Colleen Rushing of Longview; two daughters, Gina Rushing of Greenville and Tina Rushing of Longview; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Jeanette Jarred of Winnsboro; sister Shirley Jarred of Fairfield; and four grandchildren, Hayden Rushing, Taylor Rushing, Avery Waits and Emma Rushing.

Pallbearers are Larry Slaughter, James Hamm, Darrell Rushing, Tommy Smith, Hayden Rushing and Taylor Rushing.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
