WOLFE CITY — Betty L. Smith, 71, of Greenville died March 11, 2007, at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, following a one-week illness. A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. today at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas with family conducting the service. A memorial service is planned at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Brother Kevin Mitchell officiating.

Born Sept. 12, 1935, in Grannis, Ark., she was the daughter of Leonard A. and Myrtle Atchley Brock. She was married to Clair Frederick Smith on Sept. 12, 1951, in Mena, Ark.

Mrs. Smith was a self-employed bookkeeper. She was a Baptist.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Faye Smith of Greenville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Glynn Cash of Rockwall and Marla and Royce Slough of Greenville; six grandchildren, Eric Slough, Gloria Slough, Jarod Cash, Brent Cash, Terry Smith and Cyndi Kirk; and three great-grandchildren, Madison Slough, Kaitlyn Cash and Ryan Kirk.

R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.
