Charles Rudd

Charles "Toe" Rudd, 80, died December 17, 2007, at a local nursing home. Services are at 2:00 PM, December 20, 2007, at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Blue and Raymond Turner officiating. Interment follows at Memoryland Memorial Park.

Mr. Rudd was born June 12, 1927, in the Kingston Community in Hunt County to Marvin Rudd and Edna Gertrude Webb Rudd. On June 21, 1952, he married Roylynn Dees in Greenville. He worked in the shipping department of Lance for more than forty years before retiring. He was a veteran of the US Army and belonged to the Lamar Baptist Church (now Family Fellowship) for more than fifty years. His survivors are his wife of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Betty Rudd of Greenville; three nephews, Timmy Smith, Robert Smith and wife Barbara Smith, all of Conroe, and Dwain Dees and wife Rosio Dees of Huntsville; four nieces, Shelia Way of Midland, Tammy Smith of New Jersey, Dyan Bowers and husband Gary Bowers of Quinlan, and Deidra Porter and husband Mike Porter of Quinlan; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

His sister, Betty Lou Smith; a brother, Douglas Rudd; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby Dees and Florence Dees, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers are Lewis Hale, Floyd Voss, Kenny Stone, John Gilmer, Marvin Isham, and Bobby Manley.
