Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church at two o'clock on Monday afternoon for Claude H. Vaden, 69, who passed away at his home on east Main Street at 7:30 Saturday evening, January 20.

Rev G. B. Bailey, pastor of the church, conducted the final rites. Assisting Rev. Bailey was Rev. Harry Hames of Brownwood.

Pallbearers were: B. W. Scott, R. L. Mullins, C. T. Wasson, Dwight Gardner, J. F. Whittemore and Albert McAbee.

Honorary pallbearers were: Ula Bush, Ed Davis, Sid Whittemore, Leon Maloney, Tom Robnett, and D. W. Leggett.

Interment was at Mount Carmel Cemetery with arrangements in charge of R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home.

Claude H. Vaden ws born in Humbolt, Tennessee on January 17th 1882, the son of R. W. Vaden. At the age of five years he came to Texas with his parents, settling near Wolfe City.

He was married to Della M. Williams, March 3 1902 and to this union one child, a son, was born. Mr. Vaden was a retired merchant and farmer and had been ill for several years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include the widow, the son, L. Vaden, the grandson, Tommie Vaden, a sister, Mrs. J. M. Carter of Hamlin, and a host of other relatives and friends.
