Clifford Sampson was born to Linda Faye Sampson and Clifford Washington on Nov. 12, 1978, in New Orleans, La. He attended Lawless High School and was a tattoo artist. On Aug. 29, 2005, he departed this life while trying to save his family from Hurricane Katrina flood waters. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents; a brother, Dewayne Sampson; and his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He preceded his grandmother, Polly Sampson, and a daughter in death. A memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wesley Chapel C.M.E. Church in Greenville with Rev. Ronald Davis officiating.
