HUTCHINSON, Kans. — Edd Rogers, 58, of Hutchinson, Kans., died Nov. 24, 2006, at his home. Mr. Rogers was born Dec. 26, 1947, in Commerce to Billy Joe and Grace Etta Moore Rogers. He was a Hutchinson resident since 1991 moving from Wichita where he had lived since 1976.

He was a 1966 graduate of Commerce High School and a graduate of East Texas State University. He retired from Southwestern Bell after 30 years of service. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Highlands Golf & Supper Club.

He married Carrie Bontrager Morris Sept. 1, 1991.

Survivors aree his wife; two daughters, Kim Simpson and husband Steve of Wichita, Kansas, and Kara Hendon and husband Rob of Overland Park, Kans.; two stepchildren, Greg Morris and wife Deb of The Colony and Jaime Ford and husband Barrett of Jasper, Ala.; one sister, Jo Etta Christopher and husband William of Richardson; six grandchildren, Phoebe and Ryder Hendon, Alexandria and Reganne Morris and Caleb and Cooper Ford and three nephews, Spencer Kirk, Tony Kirk and Ty Thomas. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Steven Simpson.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Venue 302 with Pastor Irv Hoffman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County in care of Elliott Mortuary. Personal condolences may be sent to www.elliottmortuary.com.
