Elizabeth Mary McMennamy Williams

Services for Elizabeth Mary Williams, who died at her home in Celeste early Saturday, February 9, 1963, are at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 11, 1963, with Sorrells and Sons Funeral Home in charge. The Rev. H. B. Gideon and the Rev. Earl Allen will officiate at the First Baptist Church, Celeste. The body will lie in state at the family home until time of the service.

Mrs. Williams was born on January 15, 1883, in Hunt County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McMennamy. She had resided in and near Celeste for the past fifty-two years and was a member of the Celeste Baptist Church. She was married to Bill W. Williams on November 2, 1902, in Hunt County. He preceded her in death in 1954. Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.

Survivors include three sons, Carl Williams and Howard Williams, both of Dickison, and Raymond Williams of Texas City; two daughters, Mrs. C. O. Farmers of Greenville and Mrs. Haskell Biggs of Celeste; five brothers, Newt McMennamy, Love McMennamy and Jerry McMennamy, all of Kemp, Oklahoma, Fount McMennamy of Bokchito, Oklahoma, and Milburn McMennamy of Quanah; two sisters, Mrs. Bill Cleveland of Kemp, Oklahoma and Mrs. Dudley Johnson of Durant, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren, including Allene Biggs and Allen Biggs; twenty-one great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
