Wilson (Erb)

William Erb Wilson, 93, of Park Haven Nursing Home, died Monday at noon at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Litchfield and the Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Wilson was born in Barry County in Missouri April 19, 1885, the son of Harlon Wilson and Mary Jane Feaster. He married Gertie Ethel Williams December 8, 1905, in Missouri. Wilson was a retired employee of the U.S. Government Experimental Station and a member of the Baptist faith. He was a long-time resident of Greenville.

Wilson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertie Ethel Wilson of Greenville; a son Willie E. Wilson of McKinney; three daughters, Mrs. Ida Mae Stanford of Greenville, Mrs. Billie Jean Harris of Greenville, and Mrs. Jessie Hardridge of Bethany, Okla.; 17 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter and three grandchildren.

Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
