Ernest J. Sheltman, Sr.

Funeral services for Ernest J. Sheltman, 58, 3905 Gordon, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the North Baptist Church. Conducting the services will be Rev. Ben C. Smith and Rev. B.C. Housewright. Burial will be in the Tidwell cemetery, with Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be J.B. Reno, B. LaSyone, Jake Shanks, Ira Campbell, H.R. Driggers and D.C. Powell. Mr. Sheltman died Friday night at 8:30 p.m. in a Dallas hospital. HE was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Forney, Tex., the son of E.B. and Mary Etta Roberts Sheltman. He lived in Forney until the age of 12, at which time he moved to the Whiterock community north of Greenville, where he stayed the remainder of his life. He had been a member of the North Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Louella Nall; two sons, Ernest Joe Sheltman and Bradley Sheltman, both of Greenville; two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Young and Mrs. Oleta Lipsey, Greenville; his mother, Mrs. E.B. Sheltman, Sr.; three brothers, Richard A. Sheltman, Greenville; Joe Sheltman, Dallas; and Marshall Sheltman, Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Harold Attison, Greenville; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and four brothers, Roy E. Sheltman, Ed B. Sheltman, Vernon Lee Sheltman and Dennis Sheltman.
