REVEREND G.L. TIPPS, RETIRED MINISTER DEAD

Following an illness of only two days duration, the Rev. G. L. Tipps, 86, retired Methodist minister, died at his home in Campbell Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at his home, conducted by the Rev. Harry Thompson of Campbell assisted by the Rev. Fred Moore of Campbell and Rev. Stout of Cumby. Burial followed in Brigham cemetery.

Born in Winchester, Franklin County Tennessee, the Rev. Tipps had been a resident of Campbell for the past twenty-three years and was well known and prominent in this section. Had he lived until January 1 he would have been 87 years of age. He was a Confederate veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge. The Rev. Tipps lived a very useful life in serving as a torch bearer of the Master and because of his influence, many have turned to the paths of righteousness.

He is survived by his widow and three children, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of their friends in their hour of sorrow.
