Grace Dorsett Owen, 80, passed away Thursday, February 4, 1982, at a Leonard nursing home.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, February 6, 1982, at Valley Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy McBroom and the Rev. Gene Young officiating. Burial was at Valley Creek Cemetery.
Born on May 16, 1901, in Leonard, she was the daughter of George Dorsett and Rebecca McCasland Dorsett. She was married to Eulas Owen on December 13, 1924, in Leonard. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was a member of Valley Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Tom Hubbard Owen of Richardson; brother, Scott Dorsett of Fort Worth; sisters, Belle Jones, Zeola Tucker, and Juanita Young, all of Leonard, and Audrey Grounds of Van Alstyne; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Johnson Owen, wife of Tom Hubbard Owen of Richardson. Betty Jo is formerly from Celeste.
Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
