Ila Lee McBride Yates, 92, of Greenville died Sept. 14, 2006, at Cozby Germany Hospital in Grand Saline. She was born Nov. 17, 1913, in Hunt County; the daughter of William Wesley and Ida Mae Robinson Jones. She worked as a nurse in the healthcare business in the Greenville and Dallas areas most of her life. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Greenville.
She is survived by her sons, Harold R. and wife Nancy McBride, Thomas Earl McBride and Robert Michael McBride, all of Greenville; daughters Laura McBride Davis of Grand Saline and Mary Linda Bennett and Harriet McBride Drake of Greenville; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and four cousins. Her parents; her husband, Madison Yates; and one sister, Berneice Burks, preceded her in death. Pallbearers are Charlie McBride, James Davis, Coy Davis, Don Davis, Wayne Miller, David Bennett and John Winkler. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Lynch Funeral Service chapel in Greenville with Dr. James Massey officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
