Inez B. Johnson Taft

Inez B. Johnson Taft, 98, of Greenville, died Friday, May 25, 2007, at Park Haven Nursing Center. Funeral services are at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Taft was born on October 29, 1908, in Dulaney, Texas, the daughter of George W. Johnson and Myrtle Duanna Nix Johnson. She was married to Clifford A. Taft on January 20, 1929, in Pleasant Valley.

Mrs. Taft was a seamstress for Haggar Slacks. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmersville, Eastern Star, and VFW Auxiliary.

Surviving are a brother, Byron Johnson of Merit; sister, Beatriace Coppinger of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews, including Shirley Jones of Mabank, Glenda Rice of Emory, and Joyce Coleman of Huntsville, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, eight sisters, and six brothers.

Pallbearers are Randy Glasscock, John Glasscock, Wesley Ray, Larry Johnson, Donnie Johnson, Nathaniel Hooten, and Ryan Glasscock.

Visitation is from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at the funeral home.
