James A. Sorrow, 74, of Wolfe City died Feb. 7, 2007, at his home following a three-year illness. A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Dr. Kevin Mitchell officiating.

Born Oct. 20, 1932, in Miller Grove, he was the son of George Lloyd and Emmaline Akins Sorrow. He married Freddie Marie Burns on May 5, 1956, in Ladonia; she preceded him in death Oct. 12, 2006. Mr. Sorrow was a veteran, serving in Korea. He worked as a shop mechanic for Ennis Tag Company.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Hooe and husband Dennis of Fort Worth, and Vickie Coleman and husband B.C. of Rockwall; a son, Kevin Sorrow and wife Karen of Wolfe City; grandchildren Kandice and Keli Sorrow, Brandon Hooe, Dwayne Hooe, Casey Coleman, Chad Coleman, Brittany Holladay, Kristen Benton, Aaron Collister and Wende Mashburn; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Charlene Wright of Houston, Narween Blackwell of Garland and Darween McPeak of Royse City.

His wife; parents; a daughter, Rhonda; two brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, Greenville; Sammons Cancer Center, Baylor or First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

Lynch Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
