WOLFE CITY — Joe Gay Milton of Wolfe City died Nov. 22, 2006, at Smith’s Nursing Center in Wolfe City. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

The son of Johnnie Lee and Billie Louise Yarbrough Milton, he was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Wolfe City. He and Kathy Holmes were married in Honey Grove. He played athletics at Wolfe City High School and was selected to the All State High School Football, Baseball and Basketball Teams. He was picked as an All American High School Basketball Player by Parade Magazine. He played football at Wharton County Junior College and quarterbacked at North Texas State University in Denton.

Mr. Milton retired from the railroad.

Survivors are a son, John Thomas Milton of Honey Grove; three brothers, Larry Milton and Marc Milton of Greenville and William Everett Milton of Dallas; an uncle, Reuben Milton of Wolfe City; an aunt, Nancy Joe Haywood of Sulphur Springs and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
