Pioneer Hunt County Resident Dies at Home of Son Here Friday Afternoon

J. P. (Bud) Sullivan, 70 years of age, lifelong resident of Hunt County, died at the home of his son, Grover C. Sullivan, on Church street, at 4:45 o’clock Friday afternoon, following and illness of several weeks duration. He suffered an attack of the heart several weeks ago and his condition gradually grew worse until the end came to relieve his suffering.

Mr. Sullivan was the son of the late Patrick and Nancy Sullivan, early Hunt County settlers, and was born and reared in this county. He was united in marriage to Miss Nan Morgan, October 14, 1880, and to this happy union five children were born, two dying in infancy. The three surviving are Henry and Grover Sullivan, of this city, and Walter Sullivan, of Wichita Falls. Several grandchildren, one sister, three brothers and several nephews and nieces also survive him. His wife preceded him in death some 18 years.

Mr. Sullivan was a noble Christian character and throughout his lifetime was prominent in the upbuilding of this county.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon from the home of his son, Grover Sullivan, on East Church street. Services will be conducted by Rev., H. T Money, assisted by Rev. Fred Moore.

Interment will be in the Sullivan Cemetery.

Active pall bearers will be nephews of deceased.

Honorary pall bearers will be all friends and acquaintances of the family.
