Helen Cooper Lane
Helen Cooper Lane, 90, was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Lone Oak, Texas, and passed away Jan. 5, 2008, in Garland, Texas.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Garland, and was a social studies teacher at Memorial Middle School for 29 years.
Helen participated in numerous church and teaching activities, and spent her summers traveling abroad.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Murphy and husband, James; grandsons, Michael Murphy, and Joseph Lane Head and wife, Courtney; niece, Claudia Nosek and husband, Tom; nephews, Tom Nosek and wife, Kasey, and Chris Nosek and wife, Amy.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Garland, with interment following at Restland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Funeral Directors.
