Linda Kay Thompson, 64, of Greenville died the evening of Feb. 18, 2007, at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services are at 4 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel, 5100 Interstate 30, with Rev. Benny Chaffin officiating. Burial follows in Brigham Cemetery.

The daughter of H.A. and Mary Frances Boswell Halford, she was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Lubbock. On Nov. 4, 1968, she was married to Jerry Don Thompson in Royse City.

Mrs. Thompson taught elementary school in the Caddo Mills Independent School District. She was a Baptist and was a member of A.T.P.E. (Association of Texas Professional Educators).

Surviving are her mother of Lubbock; her husband of Greenville; two sons, Jerry Don Thompson Jr. of Greenville and Ricky Wayne Thompson of Mesquite; grandsons Kyle and wife Megan Thompson, Christopher Don Thompson, Cory Wayne Thompson and Landon Redell; sisters Clara and husband Al Jones of Hot Springs, Ark., Sue Bailey of Richardson and Gay Bennett and Julia Halford of Dallas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alton “Bud” and Kay Halford of Houston and Chris and Barbara Halford of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many much loved nieces and nephews.

Her father preceded her in death on May 13, 1980.

Memorials may be made to the Caddo Mills Independent School District.
