Logan Edward Treadway, Jr.

Logan Edward Treadway, Jr., 67, of Dallas, died November 18, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 2007, in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Gatlin officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

He was born in Greenville on May 14, 1940, to Logan E. Treadway and Nell Currin Treadway. He married Frances Ann McNatt. He was retired from Conoco Oil Company where he bought and sold oil. Mr. Treadway was a member of Central Christian Church. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1958, attended ETSU, graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, and graduated from Harvard Graduate School in 1974 with an MBA. He was an avid fisherman, loved all sports — especially UT football, was an occasional hunter, loved beaches anywhere in the world and enjoyed being with old friends and telling tall tales.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Ann Treadway of Dallas; a son, Bret Treadway of Austin; stepson Charles Caperton II of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two daughters, Tiffany Steed and Candace Clarke, both of Houston; stepdaughter Kelly Walling of Houston; a brother, Tommy Treadway of Austin; sister Sally Duncan of Dallas; and eight grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Burch, Dave Clarke, Donnie Duncan, Mark Duncan, Richard Ireland, Doug Steed, Mike Stinson, and Richard Walling. Honorary pallbearers are C. D. Bale, Roy Carbury, Glen Clark, Tommy Curtis, Dick Isaly, Allen LaPlaint, Dr. Paul Neubach, and Patrick Reardon.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Association, and the American Lung Association.
