Lorene Wallace

Services for Lorene Mercer Wallace were at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Renfro and the Rev. Robert Baldridge officiating.

Graveside services were at 3:00 PM at Ash Creek Cemetery in Azle.

Mrs. Wallace died on Sunday, July __, 1986, at 6:45 PM in Citizens General Hospital.

She was born in Lane, Texas, to Charlie Mercer and Hattie Clift Mercer on October 16, 1914. She was married to F. E. (Curly) Wallace on March 13, 1944, in Fort Worth, and he preceded her in death in June of 1983. She was a retired buyer for the World of Fun, Six Flags Over Georgia. She served on the Celeste City Council, the Celeste CCIC with two terms as president. She was twice past worthy matron of the Leonard Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 1091, and was a precinct chairperson of Box 26 of the Hunt County Democratic Commission.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Hattie Blankenship of Celeste; a brother, William L. Mercer of Grand Prairie; a half-sister, Dean Border of Grand Prairie; sisters, Mrs. Gladys Linton and Mrs. Dolly Ingram, both of Celeste, Mrs. Sula Wren of Seymor, and Mrs. Nina Jensen of Dallas; and a stepsister, Mrs. Ruby Warren of Celeste.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home in Leonard.

Pallbearers were Fred Reynolds, Albert Granberry, Gaston Alexander, Carl Lacy, Joe Carter, and Ray Holla.
