Marion Spicer Palmer

Mrs. Marion Spicer Palmer, 84, of Gilmer died February 11, 2007, at Longview Regional Hospital. Graveside services are at 1:00 PM, February 13, 2007, at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, 5100 Interstate 30. The Rev. Larry Combs will officiate.

Born February 2, 1923, in Cash, she was the daughter of Charles E. Spicer and Cecil McMillen Spicer. A 1939 Celeste High School graduate, she was married to Glenn Palmer on October 12, 1942, in Corpus Christi. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pritchett.

Survivors are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Palmer and Brenda Palmer of Longview and Glenn Palmer, Jr., of Nacogdoches; nieces Linda Hopewell of Celeste, Elizabeth Martin, Ann Starkey, and Marilyn Spicer; two nephews, Roy Renfro, Jr., and Charles Spicer III; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; her parents; an infant daughter, Sharon Ann Palmer; a brother, Charlie Spicer; and sisters Selma Renfro and Alyne Mulkey.
