Mary Ann Price Andrews Roy

Wolfe City Sun
March 8, 1918

Mrs. Mary A. Roy Dead.

Mrs. Mary A. Roy passed away February 27th at the home of her son J. L. Andrews, at Celeste at the advanced age of a little more than 99 years. She was born Nov. 29, 1818, in Virginia, was raised in Kentucky, and was married to H. C. Andrews in 1848. To this union was born two sons, H. T. Andrews, of this city and J. L. Andrews of Celeste. She moved to Illinois in 1858, and came to Texas in 1881, living in Fannin and Hunt counties until the day of her death.

She confessed faith in Christ some 70 years ago and joined the Church of Christ and has lived a devoted Christian, always ready to relieve suffering humanity when in her power. A kind mother, a true friend, has gone. A faithful child of God has been released from earth that she may enjoy the rest that remains for the people of God.

To her children and grandchildren she has left a good name, a great heritage. Sorrow not for her, for she is far better off than thou. Rest on until God shall call all the faithful home, then with all the redeemed we will spend eternity with God and Christ, in the heaven of eternal rest. A friend
