Mary Emogene Rabb Mize, 96, of Greenville died the afternoon of March 22, 2007, at Greencrest Manor. A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Kavanaugh United Methodist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Goodwin will officiate.

Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

The daughter of John E. and Dollie Lake Rabb, she was born June 29, 1910, in Lone Oak. On July 14, 1932, she was married to Bill Mize in Greenville.

Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend left this earth for her heavenly home and sweet reward. She lived her life fully serving her family until her final days. She was a homemaker and spent many years volunteering for school PTA, teaching Sunday school, playing the piano at church and visiting people in need.

She loved nature and all the many years she spent at Club Lake with her family and friends. Her legacy to all who knew her was to live for God and family and we are never too old to learn new things.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John Henry and Allene Mize of Celeste and Charles and Mary Mize of Greenville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Mize Haggard and Mary Sue and Dean Gantt, all of Greenville; daughter-in-law Margie Mize of Greenville; grandchildren, J.H. “Butch” and wife Beth Mize of Mountain Home, Michael Allen and wife Carol Lipsey of Celeste, Lisa Hill of Greenville, Dana Mize and husband David Taylor of Farmers Branch, Tricia and husband Todd Fecht of Parker, Michael and wife Melissa Gantt of Greenville, Christi and husband Ken Kramer of Annapolis, Md., Holly and husband Mark Bailey of Gun Barrel City, Kyle and wife Connie Haggard of Athens and Matt and wife April Haggard of Harleton; great-grandchildren Misty Lantrip, Monica Mize, Mary Mize, Brody Lipsey, Brandon Hill, Ashley Friend, Shelly Dodgson, Joshua, Zachariah and Jacob Fecht, Sarah Gantt, Jason and Stephanie Kramer, Reba and Roland Bailey and Drew, Ty, Samuel and Brenden Haggard; six great-great-grandchildren and loving caregivers Moli Santana and Linda Duffy.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers Bedford Rabb, James Rabb and Francis Rabb; a son, Joe Mize; son-in-law James Haggard; great-grandson Joshua Gantt; and a great-granddaughter, Britney Lipsey.

Pallbearers are J.H. “Butch” Mize, Todd Fecht, Michael Allen Lipsey, Michael Gantt, Mark Bailey, Kyle Haggard and Matt Haggard.

Memorials may be made to Kavanaugh United Methodist Church; Muscular Dystrophy Association; American Cancer Society; The Josh Gantt Memorial Scholarship Fund, care of American National Bank, Greenville; or The Britney Lipsey Memorial Scholarship Fund, care of First Bank of Celeste.
