Mary Jane Overall Woolcock

Mary Jane Overall Woolcock, formerly of Greenville, died April 16, 2007.

Born Dec. 25, 1923, in Greenville, she was the eldest daughter of Earl and Mamye East Overall. She graduated from Greenville High School. A student majoring in music at East Texas State College, she met and married World War II soldier George “Pinkie” Woolcock. Upon his return from serving in Europe they moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where they raised four children.

Mrs. Woolcock used her skills in sewing to make cold climate clothing for all of her children. When her children were grown, she became a hearing aid specialist and took up golf.

When she retired, Mrs. Woolcock moved to the West Coast to be close to her children and grandchildren.

Survivors are children George of Oregon, Carlotta of Oregon and Ed of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren; sisters Ann Casey of Greenville and Sara Wilson of Dallas; seven first cousins; six nieces; nine nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Cynthia; grandson Skyler; her parents; and two sisters, Grace Salter and Helen Hutchins.

No services are planned.
